ANMN and Real Life Speakers Club Host Successful Open House for Youth Leadership Program 2024

In an exciting initiative aimed at empowering youth, ANMN, in collaboration with the Real Life Speakrs Toastmasters Club, organized an open house event for the upcoming Youth Leadership Program. This program, set to be a part of the ESSER Summer Enrichment Camp, promises a summer filled with enriching activities designed to develop leadership and public speaking skills among young scholars.
The open house, held last week, saw enthusiastic participation from about 25 parents and their children. Attendees were given a firsthand experience of the dynamic and supportive environment fostered by the Toastmasters Club. The event featured main speakers Ridhima Shrestha and Jivin Ranjeet, whose presentations captivated the audience. Kristina Silwal and Nivisha Paudel provided insightful evaluations, highlighting the strengths and areas for improvement in the speeches. The meeting was hosted by Beth Beth Plamondon – Division D Director-elect and President of Allianz Toasters Club.
One of the highlights of the event was the interactive table topics session, where parents and their children participated in impromptu speaking exercises. This segment proved to be not only a fun game but also an excellent practice for enhancing quick-thinking and communication skills.
The Youth Leadership Program will continue with several sessions throughout the summer, scheduled as follows:
- June 29 @ 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- June 30 @ 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- July 13 @ 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- July 14 @ 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Each session will include speeches with evaluations, table topics, and rotating leadership roles, ensuring that all participants get the opportunity to develop and showcase their public speaking abilities. Although preparing speeches in advance is not required, topic ideas have been provided to help the young speakers brainstorm and come prepared if they wish.
The open house marked a promising start to what is expected to be a transformative summer for the young participants. With the continued support of ANMN and the Real Life Speakrs Toastmasters Club, this program is set to inspire and cultivate the next generation of confident and articulate leaders.
